Periodontal (Gum) Care

Healthy gums are the foundation that holds your teeth in place. Gum disease is common, often painless in its early stages, and one of the leading reasons people lose teeth. Treating it early protects everything built on top of it.

Catching it before it spreads

Bleeding when you brush, tender or receding gums, and persistent bad breath can all be signs of gum disease. In its early stage it is very treatable, which is one more reason regular checkups matter. At every exam, a dentist looks at the health of your gums, not just your teeth.

When there is buildup below the gumline, a deeper cleaning called scaling and root planing removes it and gives the gums a chance to heal and reattach. For many patients that, plus better habits at home, is enough to turn things around.

Keeping gums healthy long term

Once gum disease is under control, staying on top of it is mostly about consistent cleanings and good daily care. We will set a cleaning schedule that fits where your gums are and keep watching so a small problem does not quietly become a big one.

  • Gum health checked at every exam
  • Deep cleaning for buildup below the gumline
  • Care plans to keep gum disease under control
